How Does Bamboo Transform into a Straw?
How can a bamboo that is straight and hollow inside be turned into tiny straws? In the past, bamboo straws were usually made directly from small-caliber bamboo or by drilling holes in solid bamboo rods, which were relatively bulky and required a lot of material.
Now we have "wrapped bamboo straws". The volume of this type of straw is no different from that of an ordinary straw. It is light and thin. The light green shell looks like a real bamboo. The elegant texture retains the appearance of bamboo joints and is also scald-proof. A bamboo with a diameter of about 10 cm can be made into about 1,700 bamboo straws with a diameter of 8 mm.
Bamboo materials have the characteristics of long longitudinal fibers and are very suitable for winding processing. Using the non-marked bamboo unfolding technology, the cylindrical bamboo is first softened and unfolded without cracks, so that the tube can be turned into a sheet. Compared with the traditional method of directly cutting the original bamboo and then gluing it together, this technology greatly improves the yield rate and reduces the consumption of bamboo. Next, the sheet is cut using longitudinal slicing technology to obtain 0.2 mm to 0.3 mm ultra-thin bamboo slices, which are then double-wrapped - that is, the ultra-thin bamboo slices are "rolled up" to finally be made into bamboo straws.
From raw materials to degradation, such bamboo straws minimize environmental pollution, and the tough and lightweight bamboo straws provide a better user experience.
